“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.”
— Carl Jung
About Me
As an individual therapist with a family therapy background, I believe that we can make lasting changes by looking at our present concerns through the lens of all the things we carry with us from the past.
Ellie my gentle, attentive, lab-mix is typically in-office for sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you prefer a session without a dog present, please ask for Wednesday availability.
Ellie and I look forward to sitting with you!
When we go through difficult or painful experiences in life, we develop certain ways of coping. As we go forward, we may continue to use these ways of coping by default, even when they have stopped serving us long ago.
In therapy, we will take a compassionate look at your internal world, and the different ways that you cope, to help you understand how that’s affecting you currently, and from there, develop new ways of coping that will help you live the life you want to live now.
My role is…
To be a guide who both supports and challenges.
I will do my best to communicate as clearly as I can.
To hold space and help you slow down.
Bring my years of experience, both professional and lived, into the room to give you a framework for thinking things through.
Not to “fix” you, because you’re not broken. You’re a whole human being containing everything you need to live a rich and meaningful life.
Your role is…
To be ready to take an honest look inside yourself, and make some changes.
To practice putting words to your internal experience as best you can.
To show up to sessions each week.
To let me know if things are working (or not working).
To be willing to do some of the work beyond the therapy hour.
